A century seems like a long period of time, but life on planet Earth in the Twenty First Century changes so quickly that it can make your head spin. My grandparents rented a car for their wedding day a century ago while all their guests arrived with a horse and cutter. Grandpa lived long enough to watch men walk on the Moon and marvel at the changes he had witnessed.

When I decided to share my photography hobby with the world, I thought I would be mainly involved with the artistic side – taking the photos, choosing the best and deciding which ones to publish. Instead I find my recent days involved with learning new software programs and trying to maintain a website. But you know, life is like that. There always will be something new to learn and some new challenges to overcome. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve always enjoyed learning. I remember eagerly going through library shelves armed with a list of dewey decimal system codes hoping the books I wanted hadn’t been taken out by someone else. Today if I want to learn something new, I can look it up on Google or download a book on my Kindle within minutes. What a great time to be alive.
